Orba Warbler Competitions

Agreed at 2012 AGM that ALL competition ties will be decided on countback, not handicap.

A brief resume of competition formats and rules

Warblers Trophies.

Played as single division

Winners 1 to 6

Ties resolved on count back – back 9 back 6 etc.

Guests can play but not win

Pairs

All pairs competitions played as better ball

Texas Scramble

4 ball – each player must record 4 drives.

Handicap allowance is 1/10 of combined handicaps with slope

3 ball – each player must record 5 drives. If playing in a 4 ball competition each player plays additional drives and additional subsequent shots as follows:

Lowest handicap  - holes 1-6

Middle handicap – holes 7-12

Highest handicap – holes 13-18

Handicap allowance is 1/10 combined handicap with slope with middle handicap counted twice

Strokesford

A mixture of stableford and medal.

The medal nine holes are played on whichever ‘nine’ has stroke index 1.

The other nine holes are played as stableford.

The result is calculated by subtracting the stableford score from the nett medal score.

Mulligan

Stableford competition. You are allowed 4 extra ‘go’s (Mullligans)’ during the round. This can be taken anywhere, drive, bunker, putt etc., but the hole on which it is taken must be marked on the card. Two extra points awarded if Mulligans not used.

Turkey Trot

3 clubs and a putter stableford. No divisional split

Orba Warblers on-going competitions

Eclectic

Determined by the best gross score for each hole on a designated course each year –, 2012 will be Bonalba.

There are divisional winners – Div 1 and Div 2 calculated by deducting half exact handicap from the final gross score.

In the event of a tie the lower handicap will win.

Player’s positions will be as they appear in the division they end in – i.e. if a player started the year in Division 1 but ends the year in Division 2 they will figure in the Division 2 results.

Player of the Year

Determined as the average result of your best 6 scores at Bonalba (201)2 and your best 6 scores at any other venue the society visits throughout the year.

It is not divisional or handicap influenced.

Player of the month

Points are awarded as follows for overall positions in each qualifying competition per month. Winner is player with most points. In event of a tie the lower handicap will win.

In 2012 we will have Player of Month for both divisions.
