Dermot wins the Valentines Cup in a tough medal at Bonalba

A medal round at Bonalba was never going to be easy and so it proved with some good scores but also a lot of players struggling, not so our winner and cup holder, Dermot Dimsey who had one of his best rounds ever, scoring a net 71 off 28.

Our sponsor provided a plethora of prizes with the top 5 places in each division being rewarded, on top of division one was Michael Taylor with a net 76, in second place, Jim Rodgers with 78, third, Bob Edwards with 78, fourth Chris Field with 79 and in fifth Mike Boyle carding a net 80.

On top of division two and making a return to division one was Bill Parsons with a net 73, second place went to Roger Vicars with 74, Sheila Dindar came third scoring 75, fourth place was Malcolm Robinson’s with a 78 and fifth belonged to Clive Kay, last years champion.

 

There were nearest the pin prizes and longest drives all over the course and the winners were; David Knight, Michael Taylor, Clive Kay, Glynn Braidley, Jim Rodgers and Nick Berry, there were coveted Warbler balls for Michael Taylor, David Knight and Nick Berry. 

Peter Gibson presented 4 birthday prizes and they were won by Roy Booth, Arthur Sullivan, Tim Harrison and Steve Robinson, thank you Peter and congratulations. 

SOCIAL SCENE On the Social scene Wendy has arranged a “Quiz with Supper” at the Restaurant “BAR NOU” in Senija for the 9th March at €12.50 pp and not to be missed the St Georges Day Paella at “La Era” in Parcent on of course April 23rd at €13.00. Wendy has also booked the Summer Dance to be held at Javea Golf Club on the 29th June the price will be €25.00 pp for a very good 4 course menu including wine and water with dancing to Matt Mason.

Next week, is a stableford competition on Wednesday 22nd February at “Villaitana”.  Please meet no later than 9.15 for a 10.00am start.

As always guests are welcome subject to a current handicap certificate.
